The Junior Sports Academies are dedicated, sports specific coaching run by qualified coaches.
The coaching course will run in line with the national governing bodies’ sports development schemes, and at the end of each term children will receive a performance profile from the coach, and the opportunity of a certificate from the governing body. All participants in the academy will receive a certificate. The academy currently has programmes in the areas of: karate, ballet, gymnastics, golf and tennis.

Seitou Ryu is a traditional school of karate, teaching a mixture of Goju Ryu and Shotokan styles. The instructor at Stock Brook Country Club is Sensei Richard Gregory, a 3 rd Dan black belt. He is the co-founder and chief instructor of the karate club.
Each student will learn blocks, punches, kicks, forms and sparring. At the end of each three months, provided they have learned the correct skills, the students will take a grading. The successful students will receive a certificate and will change the colour of their belt. There are nine belts to achieve before black.
The class is taught in a traditional way, focusing on developing effective techniques, a strong fighting spirit and a good understanding of the way of karate. The children are taught practical self defence whilst at the same time having lots of fun! The club also runs several additional training seminars in kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) at various intervals and hold a karate competition twice a year.

The tennis academy courses will follow the LTA’s mini-tennis and junior tennis awards scheme.
Children will participate in a programme laid down by the LTA that will include forehand, backhand, serving skills etc and will include an emphasis on tennis etiquette.
Children will progress through the red, orange and green awards collecting certificates and stickers as they pass each stage.
The coach will maintain performance records and ensure all players are monitored throughout the programme.
Stock Brook will wherever possible ensure that any child who shows potential will be seen by the Essex LTA.

Learn to play golf under first class instruction from our resident golf professional. The golf academy will give juniors tuition on a step by step basis, introducing them to the fundamentals of golf from day one.
The course will also teach juniors a good understanding of the game and golf etiquette ensuring that they fulfil their potential and that they enjoy playing the game.
The progress of all golfers will be monitored and on completion of the course they will receive a certificate to highlight their success.

Gymnastics is an excellent way of improving co-ordination, flexibility and strength.
Exercises will include basic floor work, forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, splits, head stands etc. The more advanced techniques will include round off’s, back flips, somersaults, forward and backward walk-over and much more.
The courses will be affiliated to BAGA (The British Amateur Gymnastics Association) and follow their accredited award scheme.

Ballet improves co-ordination, posture, and stance and is an activity enjoyed by hundreds of school children throughout the UK .
All aspects of ballet will be covered including - the first position, point toes, fairy runs, curtseys etc with progression to “Primar Ballerina”
Stock Brook Country Club will produce there own award scheme for this activity.
